TelcoTV (Booth 532) – San Diego, CA, November 9, 2005 — Espial®, a leading provider of client IPTV applications and middleware announced today that Wegener® Corporation (Nasdaq: WGNR), has integrated Espial Escape® into its IP set top, SMD 515. This new IPTV set-top box will include new Web services, powered by Espial Escape that will help operators Own their IPTV Subscribers and create an IPTV experience that keeps viewers captivated.
With WEGENER's SMD 515 set top box integrated with Espial Escape, operators can easily develop standards-based interactive portal services to deliver news, weather, sports or games, while also provide an engaging Internet on TV experience for consumers to access the most popular sites on the web via their TV.

Espial Escape features the latest television and W3C standards by offering HTML 4, JavaScript 1.5, DOM1, DOM2-Events, CSS2.1, CSS-TV, and DVB-HTML to offer a rich and dynamic environment for content creation.
WEGENER's streaming media decoder, SMD -515, supports MPEG-4/h.264 and MPEG-2 decoding. The IP set top fully supports both SD and HD video, optional PVR and rapid integration of 3 rd party applications, such as Espial Escape.
