OTTAWA, Canada - 7 February 2000: Espial, leading provider of embedded Java technology
for Internet appliances has opened its first U.K. office to enable Espial to begin
dealing directly with customers throughout Europe.
The new office, located in Swindon means Espial can offer technical support, training, and consultancy and begin selling directly to its customer base in the telecommunications, consumer and industrial markets. The move will reinforce Espial's relationships with major OEMs; hardware manufacturers, software houses and value added resellers. It also enables Espial to offer in-depth support to all customers, including OEMs and device manufacturers. The opening of the new office is part of a worldwide program of expansion for Espial. In 1999, Espial signed alliances and agreements with companies including WindRiver, Tadpole, Tao Group, and many other leading vendors. Now it is opening more offices in North America and Europe to deliver direct support to its customers. Keith Potter, will be director of European sales. Keith has over 16 years in the embedded industry. Before joining the Espial team, Keith held various design and engineering management positions, including the European Marketing Manager for Wind River Systems.
