OTTAWA, Ontario–(BUSINESS WIRE)-March 10, 2015-Espial, a leader in on-demand TV software and solutions, today announced that Jeffrey Huppertz has been appointed as its new vice president of marketing and business development. His responsibilities include forging strategic partnerships, developing key customer relationships and driving Espial’s international marketing and business development.
“We are excited to bring Jeff, a highly regarded industry executive with extensive technology expertise, to our growing Espial team,” said Jaison Dolvane, Espial CEO. “Espial’s rich and engaging video user experience solutions, based on RDK and HTML5, are gaining industry momentum and adoption. Jeff’s experience in software, marketing, and business leadership make him an ideal fit to drive our continued success.”
Named a Cable TV Pioneer in 2011, Huppertz brings over 25 years of leadership experience in the cable and telecommunications industry. Prior to joining Espial, Huppertz served as senior vice president, business and corporate development, at SeaWell Networks where he helped engineer the company’s acquisition by ARRIS in 2014. He has also served as CEO at RL Drake, an American cable TV equipment manufacturer committed to designing and building highly innovative communications solutions for over 50 years.
Earlier positions include serving as OpenTV’s vice president for North American markets, and as director of business development and strategy in Motorola’s broadband communications sector. A recognized industry agent of change, Huppertz played key roles creating the earliest on-screen program guides, introducing high-speed Internet solutions, and new services such as digital music and downloadable video games.
He holds a BS in Computer Science from the University of Illinois and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. Huppertz holds three patents in the area of broadband networks.
